Finnish Emission classification - Building materials

Classified products have been tested and evaluated with regard to the following characteristics:
  • total volatile organic compounds (TVOC)
  • formaldehyde HCOH
  • ammonia NH3
  • carcinogensodours
 
  • The emission classification of building materials has three emission classes.
  • Emission class M1 corresponds to the best quality and lowest emission.
  • Most Ecophon products fulfil the highest class M1.
These classifications are issued by the Building Information Foundation RTS, which is Finland’s leading information service for the building and construction sector. Its mission is to foster and promote good planning and construction practices as well as sound property management procedures. The Building Information Foundation RTS is a private foundation with representatives from 43 Finnish building organisations.
